3 mindset changes that will transform your leadership
“The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don’t have any.”
When we think about leadership, we often focus on skills, strategy, and visibility. But as last week’s Female Lawyers’ Club masterclass reminded us, one of the biggest obstacles to stepping into leadership isn’t external at all - it’s our own mindset.
Our guest speaker, Annabella Zeiddar, a transformational coach and former lawyer, shared three powerful mindset changes that can change the way you show up and lead:
1. From permission to possibility
Too often we wait for someone else to tap us on the shoulder before we speak up, go for a promotion, or share an idea. But leadership doesn’t come by invitation - it starts when you step forward yourself.
2. From perfection to progress
Perfectionism is exhausting, and it keeps us stuck. Progress, even imperfect progress, is what builds momentum and confidence. Excellence does not require you to have zero flaws.
3. From overwork to ownership
Many of us still equate long hours with value. But leadership is about setting boundaries, protecting your time and energy, and owning the impact you create.
Annabella also reminded us that the thoughts we repeat shape not only our mindset but our physiology and behaviour.
If we want new results, we have to start by changing the stories we tell ourselves.
A reflection for you:
Which of these changes feels most relevant to you right now, and how could you start putting it into practice this week?
At Female Lawyers’ Club, we’re creating the space for women in law to make these changes - and to do it with support, strategy, and a community of like-minded peers.
Enjoy the rest of your week.
